India & USA would soon start talks on a Big Trade Deal: PM Modi

Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, during a joint press briefing with US President Donald Trump, said "Our commerce ministers have had positive talks on trade. Both of us have decided that our teams should give legal shape to these trade talks. We also agreed to open negotiations on a big trade deal". He added that Bilateral trade between the two countries had seen two-digit growth and increased trade stability in the last three years.

Coronavirus outbreak: 24x7 customs clearances to deal with Supply issues

The Government has ordered all customs authorities at ports, airports & inland container depots to operate 24x7 to ensure that cargo is cleared expeditiously & there are no supply constraints due to the coronavirus outbreak. This will address any congestion, or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions or cessation thereof. This facility will be in operation till the end of May 2020 by which time, disruptions in the supply chain is expected to have settled.

$5 trillion economy goal is achievable in coming 5 years: Piyush Goyal at the AIMA’s 64th Foundation day function

Speaking at the event, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Railways Piyush Goyal urged all to come together with collaboration and cooperation, for fulfilling the PM’s vision and mission for the $5 trillion economy in next 5 years, and truly making India a Superpower. He added that MSME is a sector which truly deserves recognition and our governance & good management practices needs to be taken to the remotest parts of the country.

Stakeholder Consultation held for reforms in administration of Boilers

Stakeholders appreciated various initiatives taken by the DPIIT related to manufacture, erection & use of boilers and to improve efficiency by ensuring simplified online registration, timely approvals, self certification & third party inspection of boilers. Stakeholders informed that inspection efficiency has improved resulting in reduction of project execution time. Further, stakeholders also made suggestions to carry forward the reforms.
