A Single Integrated Helpline number "139" launched for quick grievance redressal and enquiry
As the new helpline number 139 will take over all the existing helpline numbers (except 182), it will be easy for the passengers to remember this number and connect with Railways for all their needs during the travel. The Helpline 139 will be available in twelve languages. It will be based on IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System). There is no need of a smart phone to call on 139, thus, providing easy access to all mobile users. |

Disaster Management: Self Propelled Accident Relief Medical Vans (SPARMVs) & High Speed Self Propelled Accident Relief Trains (HS-SPARTs) for improving Disaster response
To improve the capacity during restoration, 175 Tonnes cranes are under procurement which is an upgradation over existing 140 Tonnes cranes. The concept of golden hour has also been recognised to expedite response time during disaster. Currently, Indian Railways has more than 6000 trained breakdown staff, 176 ARTs, 86 ARMVs & 90 Breakdown Cranes for disaster relief. |

Safety First: Coaches of all trains to get CCTV cameras by 2022
Railway Board Chairman Mr. V K Yadav said that All the 58,600 coaches in mail and express trains will get CCTV cameras by March 2022 to keep a check on criminals and miscreants. He added that Railways will also use artificial intelligence and face recognition software so that analytics can be used to recognise faces of criminals and nab them. |
