Cabinet approves the Industrial Relations Code Bill, 2019
The draft code on Industrial Relations has been prepared after amalgamating, simplifying and rationalizing the relevant provisions of three Central Labour Acts: The Trade Unions Act 1926, The Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act 1946 & The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. This will lead to speedier disposal of cases, wider flexibility on exit provisions for workers and promote employment & ease of doing business.

Cabinet approves Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) programme : India and Japan ink pact for expeditious grant of patents
Controller General of Patents, Design and TradeMarks (CGPDTM), Government of India and Commissioner Japan Patent Office signed the Joint Statement of Intent (JSOI) for a bilateral Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Programme on a pilot basis for a period of three years. PPH will lead to benefits like reduction in disposal time & pendency of patent applications, consistency in quality of granted patents and an opportunity for Indian inventors to get accelerated examination of their patent applications in Japan.

Curbing Unfair Trade Practices : DGTR takes various measures to protect the Domestic Industry
As part of its various measures, Directorate General of Trade Remedies has streamlined the process of anti-dumping investigation, which has reduced the number of days taken for initiating investigation. The number of anti-dumping duty cases has risen from 5 in 2016 to 25 up to 1st November 2019. DGTR has, for the first time, initiated two cases of bilateral safeguards this year.

19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission held in New Delhi on 20th - 21st November, 2019
The Agenda for the Joint Commission Session was WTO issues, India - EU BTIA, bilateral trade and investment relations, trade barrier issues and measures to promote trade, cooperation in various sectors. Bilateral trade between India and Finland totaled USD 1.247 billion in 2014-15 and USD 1.284 billion in 2016-17. In 2016 Finnish companies have invested USD 419 million between April 2000 to July 2017.

Target to boost Seafood exports to $30-billion :Piyush Goyal holds discussions with exporters
Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Railways Piyush Goyal met a delegation of representatives from Seafood Exporters Association to aggressively promote fisheries exports and chalk out a roadmap for USD 30 billion of exports. He said that the government is committed to safeguard the interests of fishermen. India exports seafood worth over USD 7 billion, in which Frozen shrimp and frozen fish are major items.

GeM Signs MoU With Government of NCT Delhi
Government e Marketplace (GeM) has entered into an MoU with the Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, in order to facilitate buyer organizations of Delhi towards a market-based procurement. Delhi has consistently been among the top buyers on GeM. The MoU will further expedite the harmonisation of the procurement guidelines of the two entities and integration of the systems, enabling seamless procuring experience.
