Easing of traffic - Opening of Bhaupur and Khurja section of DFC by November 2019
The Bhaupur and Khurja section of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) in Uttar Pradesh will be open by November, 2019 which will help reduce pressure on the saturated trunk route of the North Central Railway between Kanpur-New Delhi through shifting of freight trains from Indian Railway route to Dedicated Freight Corridor route.

Modernizing Signalling System - India Railways sign MoU with RailTel
Railways has signed an MoU with RailTel Enterprises Limited (REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary company of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, to upgrade its signalling system with Automatic Train Protection System with LTE based Mobile Train Radio Communication System (MTRC) on four busiest sections. It will improve safety and help reduce congestion in these rail networks.

In order to clear extra rush of passengers and considering their safety during ‘Amarnath Yatra’, Railways has decided to run a special train between Anand Vihar Terminal and Udhampur (Train no. 04401/04402) starting from July 1, 2019 twice a week.

A high level review meeting of senior Railway officials was held on 18th June 2019 where it was discussed that Railways should work as a team to accomplish ambitious targets set by the Railway Board and turn Indian Railways into one of the best Railways in the world. The agenda of the meeting was safety performance, punctuality, capacity enhancement and other various ongoing developmental projects and ensuring Railways reaches out to the poorest of the poor.
