Displaying dedication and efficiency, Integral Coach Factory has produced its 3000th coach of the year in less than 9 months. This would help in meeting the growing demand for coaches. The number of working days to achieve the above figure has been reduced from 289 days in the last year to 215 days in the current year, a reduction of 25.6%.

Railways to procure 44 rakes of Vande Bharat Trains from Integral Coach Factory
Integral Coach Factory at Chennai has published on December 22nd 2019, the tender for supply of electrical equipment and other items for 44 Train sets of 16 coaches each. The procurement process promotes transparency, accountability, speed of delivery. The new train sets will provide an actual saving of 20% in journey time and all equipment are suitable for flooding conditions.

Railways registers new record with over 8.33 lakh tickets booked through UTS app on a day
Railways registers a new record with UTS mobile application which allows booking of unreserved tickets for both suburban local trains as well as long distance trains. The Mumbai division of the Central Railway zone on December 17th 2019 saw train ticket bookings of over 8.33 lakh passengers the highest number of train ticket bookings through the UTS mobile app on a day.

National Rail & Transportation Institute signed an MoU with the University of Birmingham on December 18th, 2019 to set up its first Centre of Excellence for Next Generation Transportation Systems. The establishment of this centre is yet another step towards building our capacity in the transportation sector, which would prepare our youth for participating in building and operation of national projects such as High-Speed Railways, modernizing Indian Railways signalling systems, rolling stock and operations.

CLW produces 300th Locomotive of 2019-20 in less than 9 months
Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) has turned out 300th locomotive of the FY 2019-20 on December 21st 2019 evening, in less than 9 months of current financial year. The working days for production of 300th loco has reduced from 292 days in the year 2017-18 to 249 days in 2018-19 and further to 216 days in the current FY 2019-20. Therefore, a reduction of 28% since 2017-18.
