Railways signed an MoU with Government of Odisha for development of Bhubaneswar station as Multi-Modal Transport Hub


Ministry of Railways signed an MoU with Government of Odisha for development of Bhubaneswar station as Multi-Modal Transport Hub on 19 September 2019. The multi-modal Hub expected to completed in three years shall have new terminal building for Railway Station, City Bus terminal, Public Car parking and other allied public utilities.

New Passenger Train between Dumka and Poreyahat in Jharkhand


Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal flagged off new passenger Train (No. 53561/53562) between Dumka and Poreyahat in Jharkhand on 17.09.2019 via Video Conferencing. The new passenger service between Dumka and Poreyahat will provide connectivity to all enroute stations. It will have 8 coaches & its services will be available 6 days a week, except on Sunday.

Railways to adopt HOG technology in all LHB Coaches trains


Railways has planned to convert all LHB trains to HOG system within this year. Till date 342 trains have already been converted into HOG resulting in saving of approximate Rs 800 crore per year. 284 more trains are to be converted into HOG by the year end which will result in more savings.

Government approved payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (FY 2018-19) to Railway Employees


Maintaining high levels of motivation among railway personnel Government has approved the payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages to over 11.52 Lakh eligible non-gazetted Railway employees (excluding RPF/RPSF personnel) for the Financial Year 2018-19. This entails an expenditure of Rs. 2024.40 crores to the exchequer.
