Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bolangir-Bichhupali railway line on 15th January 2019. He also launched six Ministry of Railways projects, including the launch of 813 kilometre of electrified lines from Jharsuguda to Vizianagaram and Sambalpur to Angul.

Ministry of Railways organized an All India Conference on Railway Security at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 16th January 2019. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajnath Singh, the Minister of Home Affairs, suggested that we need to explore the system of online FIR which will expedite investigation and help in controlling crimes.

Enhancing Infrastructure and passenger amenities: New Mumbai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and two other train services flagged off and several passenger amenities dedicated

Bi-weekly Rajdhani Express train between Mumbai and Delhi from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station was flagged off on 19th January 2019. The train is equipped with LED backlit snap frame showcasing major attraction of the cities falling enroute and an onboard wi-fi hot spot based entertainment system in each coach.

Daily Himachal Express train, which at present runs between Delhi and Amb-Andaura, but will now run between Delhi and Daulatpur Chowk. 16-km broad gauge rail line section between Amb-Andaura and Daulatpur Chowk in Una district was also dedicated to the nation on 15th January 2019.
