PM Modi bats for boosting intra-BRICS trade to $500 billion
Addressing the Leaders' Dialogue with BRICS Business Council, Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi said the partnership agreement inked between New Development Bank and BRICS Business Council will be beneficial to both sides. He pushed for boosting intra-BRICS trade and investment and urged that a roadmap be readied for increasing the trade to $500 billion by the next summit.

MMTC Revenue from exports increased by 384%
Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC) has achieved revenue from operations of Rs. 13,176 crore during the half year ended on September 30, 2019 as against Rs. 12,511 crore (September 2018) registering a growth of 5%. MMTC has posted a net profit of Rs 43.28 crore during the period as compared to Rs. 41.62 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 4%.

Plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) being hosted by India from 18th to 22nd November, 2019 in New Delhi
The KPCS came into effect from January 2003 and evolved into an effective mechanism for stopping the trade in conflict diamonds. At present, KPCS has 55 members representing 82 countries including EU with 28 members. India is the current Chair of KPCS with Russian Federation as Vice Chair for the year 2019. Speaking on the inauguration, Commerce Secretary said that India has been actively involved in the development of KP as an important protocol in trade of diamonds.

India's overall Export shows 1.51% growth during April-October 2019; Trade Deficit Narrows To $11 Billion in October 2019
India's overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-October 2019-20 are estimated to be USD 310.23 billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 1.51per cent over the same period last year. Taking merchandise and services together, overall trade deficit for April-October 2019-20 is estimated at USD49.45 billion as compared to USD71.45 billion in April-October 2018-19.

Development for Bicycle Industry : DPIIT establishes Development Council
DPIIT has set up a Development Council for Bicycle for vision planning in design, engineering and manufacturing of lighter, smarter, value added, safe and faster premium bicycles which are comparable with global standards for exports and domestic market. A Twenty-three-member Council will be headed by Secretary DPIIT. The constitution of the Council is for a period of two years.
