Modern Coach Factory (MCF), Raebareli, a shining example of “Make in India”: Production of complete coaches has doubled almost every year

Construction at MCF, Raebareli began in May 2010 and the factory was slated to produce 1,000 coaches. However, between 2011-14, only 375 coaches were refurbished between 2011 to 2014. Since, MCF was declared a Production Unit of Indian Railways in In July 2014, it has doubled production almost every year. It is expected to produce 1,422 coaches in 2018-19 of which 1,220 coaches have already been produced till date.

Wearing a new look, Passenger amenities get an upgrade at Tirupati railway station

Given the rising number of pilgrims visiting the abode of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala, South Central Railway (SCR) has refurbished the passenger amenities at the station like Wi-Fi and LED TVs in open waiting hall, new look for booking counters, premium lounge on platform 1, around 50 steel-type racks for pilgrims to keep their belongings.
