With coach manufacturing picking up across its factories, Indian Railways has manufactured more LHB coaches in the last two years than it did in the first 17 years since their introduction thereby creating a record. LHB coaches offer better riding comfort and more importantly are safer.

In a bid to provide a better travel experience to its unreserved passengers, Railways is looking to manufacture over 1,000 LHB-platform Deen Dayalu coaches with a host of comforts in the next two financial years i.e. 2019-20 & 2020-21.

Government has given major tax relief to middle-class salaried individuals in Budget 2019 by announcing the extension of tax relief under Section 87A and raising the standard deduction limit by Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 which will benefit over 8 lakh Railway employees.

Taking forward its Operation Swarn, Indian Railways plans to upgrade all its Rajdhani Express trains to "luxurious" standards. All Shatabdi Express trains of Indian Railways have already been revamped under “gold standard” project.
