Railways organized "Parivartan Sangosthi" to share ideas for the next level of reforms in Railways to transform it into a world-class facility
A two days conclave in New Delhi was held with attendees from across the country to deliberate on the suggestions received from the officers of various Zonal Railways to take Indian Railways to the next level of reforms. Around 2,000 suggestions have been screened and most impactful and promising suggestions have been shortlisted and were brainstormed by officers in 12 groups headed by a General Manager. |

Railways signs an MoU with Department for International Development, United Kingdom
Indian Railways is taking several initiatives in the field of Green Energy to achieve the same. In line with this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ministry of Railways, Government of India and Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom on 2nd December, 2019 for collaboration on energy and sustainability. The collaboration will go a long way in ensuring self-sufficiency and efficiency in terms of energy and greener Indian Railways. |

Special drive by RPF against persons travelling in Coaches/Seats reserved for Divyangjans and women passengers
In a bid to crackdown against the illegal occupant of Coaches/seats reserved for Differently abled persons and women passengers, Special drives on the occasion of the "International Day of Persons with Disabilities" on 03.12.19 & 04.12.2019 were launched all over the country by Railway Protection Force. A total of 12,825 persons were arrested under Section 155 of the Railways Act with realization of fine of Rs. 12.18 lakhs in both the drive. |

Railways getting Eco-Smart: Vijayawada Railway Station gets ISO Certification
Vijayawada Station has bagged the prestigious ISO 14001:2015 certification for a period of three years from Dec 2, 2019 to December 1, 2022 for implementing an efficient environmental management system. A two stage audit was conducted at the station in November as part of the procedure for issuing the certification. |
