After bringing more than 1 lakh jobs to the youth, Railways announces recruitment for 13,487 post of JE, DMS & CMA

Ministry of Railways has announced recruitment for 13,487 posts of Junior Engineers (JE), Junior Engineers (IT), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) & Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The notification for the posts has been issued on the Railway Recruitment Board website.

Rail-Coal Synergy has enabled a 25% increase in Coal stocks in power plants across the country, ensuring ample production of electricity to meet the rapidly growing energy needs

Ministry of Coal has increased the Coal stock & Coal supply to power plants to meet the energy demands in the country. With the focus on boosting the domestic Coal Supply, the Coal stock in power plants as on 31st December 2018 was 16.607 MT as compared to 31st December 2017 which was 13.199 MT.

Safety a Top Priority: The policy of increasing platform heights along Mumbai's suburban stations has been immensely successful, resulting in a 67% decline in train-gap related fatalities

The number of deaths in the suburban railway section dipped 10% to 2,734 in 2018 from 3,014 the previous year. It is a 20% fall compared to 2014 when 3,423 people lost their lives on Mumbai’s lifeline. It means while on average, more than nine daily deaths were reported four years ago, seven lost their lives last year.

Platform-Surfing: Railways is using platform hoverboards to quickly deliver important documents to the driver, ensuring safety conformance & sharper punctuality

Railways has started a pilot of using hoverboards for Shatabdi trains at the New Delhi station, using which the carriage and wagon staff move between the driver and guard cabins. Instead of running between the two ends of trains, the carriage and wagon (CNW) staff now use hoverboards to navigate the platform.
