72 years after Independence, tribal dominated Alirajpur gets rail connectivity
The natives of the far flung tribal dominated Alirajpur district had their own share of joy - the region has now been connected to the Indian Railway network after almost 72 years since Independence. A train connecting Alirajpur to Chhota Udaipur (Baroda) was flagged off by Hon'ble MP Shri GS Damor.

Railways celebrated Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India
Shri Piyush Goyal flagged off and led the "Run for Unity" events to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas which were also held by the Zonal Railways at their respective headquarters, offices and stations. Prabhat pheries/Nukkad Nataks were also organized at Zonal Railway Headquarters to create awareness about the crucial role of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel towards integration of the country.

OTP based system introduced for more secure and customer friendly refund for reserved e-tickets
Refund against cancelled or fully waitlisted dropped tickets booked by IRCTC authorised agents now made more user friendly through the new system. The objective of the scheme is to streamline the cancellation refund process further so that cancellation amount is refunded timely to the customer by the agents.

Railways on Digital mission to become paperless, efficient and transparent: Phase-I of NIC E-office system completed
The implementation of phase-I has been completed ahead of time by RailTel under an MoU with Railways in March 2019 with a mandate to complete the work by March 2020. As of 30.10.2019, RailTel has created 50000+ users in 58 establishments of Indian Railways.
