In an attempt to ease commuting for railways travellers, IRCTC has announced its partnership with cab-hailing app, Ola. This tie-up will allow commuters to book an Ola taxi on the IRCTC app. This partnership will give railway travellers access to Ola booking services through the IRCTC Rail Connect App and also on its website.

Indian Railways has registered a rise of 35% in the number of senior citizens who have chosen to give up passenger fare Subsidy as 17.63 lakh senior citizens gave up concessional value of the subsidy. During the current financial year 2017-18, Indian Railways has gained an amount of Rs 28.98 Crores on account of senior citizens opting to give up subsidy.
