Cabinet approves Indore (Mangaliyagaon) — Budni New Line (205.5 Km) with Electrification which will reduce the distance between Jabalpur and Indore by 68 Kms |
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved to construct new line between Budni to Indore (Mangaliyagaon) with approximate length of 205.5 Km. This Railway line will reduce the distance between Jabalpur and Indore by 68 Kms. The Project will generate direct employment during construction for about 49.32 lakh mandays

Ensuring Safety, Eliminating Risk: Railways has removed all unmanned level crossings on major routes

Railways sets another benchmark in ensuring safety by removing all unmanned level crossings on major routes. This has been done by either constructing subways and bridges at these crossings or by altogether closing them down. As part of this safety drive, Railways has resolved to not construct any more level crossings.

Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Garjanbahal open cast mine of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), which will generate direct employment opportunity for 894 people and indirect job opportunities for 5,000. Hon’ble PM also launched the 53.1-km long Jharsuguda-Serdega railway line constructed by the MCL which would strengthen connectivity in the tribal-dominated region.

On the back of a phenomenal 12% jump in domestic coal production, the coal offtake to power plants has increased by 9.5%, providing ample supply to power India

Coal offtake from Coal India Ltd (CIL) has risen by 9.5% during April-August to 247 million tonnes (mt) from 225 mt in the same period of last year. Production of the dry fuel went up 12% to 216 mt, marking a 12% growth in the period. Enhanced coal despatches are leading a recovery in capacity utilisation at thermal power plants.

After making important contributions in the army, now the ex-servicemen in Uttar Pradesh will be deployed at unmanned level crossings as 'Gate Mitras' to minimise the possibility of accidents

To minimise the possibility of accidents on unmanned level crossings, Railways will be deploying 'Gate Mitras' at 106 unmanned level crossings across Uttar Pradesh. For this purpose, Railways will hire 400 ex-servicemen to man such crossings.
