Railways has improved the on-time performance of its trains in July. The punctuality score of Railways has increased from low levels of around 60 per cent (between April and June) to 70 per cent in first two weeks of July.

The Railway Ministry is also trying to execute a plan for setting up railway line across the national highways to connect Nagpur – Mumbai Super Expressway (Samriddhi Mahamarg) to Railway line connecting Nagpur-Mumbai.

The pipe conveyor system is a step in the direction of developing a modern, efficient and eco-friendly mode of coal transportation from mines of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) to the Pit head Power stations of MAHAGENCO. This dedicated coal transportation system will be first of its kind in Coal India Limited (CIL).
