The new timetable of Railways has been implemented from 15th August 2018. The travel time of premium trains has been reduced by 30 minutes to 50 minutes and 5 new trains i.e. 1 Antyodaya Express, 2 Uday Express and 2 Tejas trains and 1 semi high speed train have been launched.
Railways has released a report on Station Cleanliness conducted by Quality Council of India (QCI). This is the third such audit cum survey which has been conducted by Railways to increase level of cleanliness by identifying unclean spots/gaps and to improve cleanliness standards and also to propel healthy competition among railway stations.
With Kerala reeling under one of the worst floods, Railways has provided over 14 lakh liters of drinking water to the State through wagons and also bottled water. Railways is committed towards providing all possible help in this hour of need.
In the wake of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for creating digital museums at stations using QR code, Ministry of Railways has made “Digital Screens” operational at 22 stations on this Independence Day as an innovative low cost solution to spread awareness among public about the opulent heritage of Indian Railways.
