Railway Stations are set to undergo complete transformation, paving the way for large scale modernisation and world class infrastructure

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the redevelopment of Railway Stations by Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) as Nodal Agency and main Project Development Agency, through simplified procedures adapting various business model and for longer lease tenure of upto 99 years.

Under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Mission, Railways rolled out Committed Program for improving the green cover and sanitation facilities in all its public establishments.

Dovetailing its steadfast cleanliness campaign with ecological priorities, Railway has undertaken a committed program to increase the green cover in all public utility spaces like railway stations and mass contact offices besides other working premises and railway colonies.

RPF has tackled incidents of theft at stations by compiling a dossier of repeat offenders and by forming decoy teams, helping reduce cases of thefts by 40% at Andheri Station in Mumbai

An innovative solution devised by Andheri Railway Protection Force (RPF) to nab mobile, chain and purse thieves seems to have paid off. Cases of mobile theft, chain-snatching and pickpocketing at the station came down by almost 40% this September as compared to August, after the RPF compiled a dossier of known offenders who have been booked multiple times in the past for such crimes.

Indian Railways enters into Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) & Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Russian Federation

MoC and MoU were signed between the Ministry of Railways and Government of Russian Federation. The MoC intends to carry forward the activities taken up under the agreement signed between the two countries on 24th December, 2015. The MoU aims at providing organizational and methodological support to higher educational institutions implementing joint projects in the field of transport education of both countries.
