| Ministry of Railways had earlier announced the recruitment for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) & Technicians for 26,502 posts in February 2018. The notified vacancies of 26,502 for the posts of ALP and Technicians are likely to be increased substantially to about 60,000 vacancies. Candidates are advised to refer to Railway Recruitment Board website for the updated information. |

The fares for AC-3 (chair car) on the fastest train between Bengaluru and Mysuru were reduced from
 490 to 260 in October 2016. Since then, there has been an upswing in ridership, with fewer vacant seats. The discount on Shatabdi fares between the two cities has boosted the train’s occupancy and the revenue has gone up in 2017. |
