The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the new Broad Gauge Electrified Line of 294.53 route Kms from Katghora to Dongargarh which will provide rail connectivity to unserved areas of Chhattisgarh, opening them up for industrial development.

Powering India: Coal India's supply to power sector rises by 12% |
The supply of coal by Coal India Limited (CIL) to the power sector in the first five months of the ongoing fiscal increased by 12.1 per cent to 196.9 million tonnes (MT). The dispatch of dry fuel by CIL in the April-August period of the 2017-18 was at 175.6 MT.

Railways has launched India’s first RoadRailer train which is a bimodal vehicle capable of running on rails as a wagon and on road as a semi-trailer truck. This new initiative of the Railways would replace 50 to 55 trucks from roads thereby reducing costs and providing greater safety to the goods being transported.
