Government to go for bulk procurement & prompt payments, cutting delays for modernisation of trains & railway stations
 
Indian Railways will go for bulk procurement for modernisation of trains and railway stations. Government is working on a system under which it will guarantee payment within 30 days of all work orders which will bring more transparency in the process. List of projects pending with RDSO along with the timeline for approval will also be available online.

Historic wage agreement by Coal India Limited
 
The 10th Wage Agreement of Coal Workers has concluded. Considering the country’s position, CIL’s benefit and financial position, a new record has been created by agreeing to 20% increase in wages. For the welfare of workers, an amount would be paid to employees before Diwali as a one-time advance.

Government doubles Diwali joy for Coal India employees by announcing one-time advance of Rs. 51,000 instead of Rs. 40,000
One-time advance payable to each employee of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries will now be Rs. 51,000 instead of Rs. 40,000 before Diwali by 17th October – the day of Dhanteras. The announcement has brought new-found optimism among the coal workers furthering their Diwali cheer.

Faster and cheaper Rajdhani between Delhi-Mumbai: Will decrease the travel time of passengers by 2 hours
 
A new, cheaper and faster Rajdhani is the Railways’ Diwali gift to commuters on the Delhi-Mumbai route. The special train from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi to the Bandra Terminus in Mumbai, will not only decrease travel time by two hours, but will cost passengers less than the two other Rajdhanis already on the route.
