Over 21 lakh LED Street Lights
installed across India, leading to
energy savings and brighter streets
Under Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP), over 21 lakh conventional street lights have been replaced with LED street lights across the country. The newly installed lights have led to brighter streets, feeling of enhanced safety and security among the residents and motorists.

2,000 MW Subansiri Project to
re-start after 6 years; a big boost to Hydro sector
2,000 MW Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Project at Gerukamukh along the Assam-Arunachal boundary would be put back on track immediately and there would be no further delay in the project. Works on the Lower Subansiri Project had been stalled since December 2011.

Benefitting the honest: Areas with
low power loss to get uninterrupted
power
Cities with low line-loss will start getting 24-hour power supply on priority basis. There is a line loss of 40% to 45% in UP and power pilferage is the major reason for it. The Centre and the State Government have intensified efforts to put a check on line loss. Places with low line-losses would start getting round-the-clock uninterrupted power supply.

Government earmarks Rs. 50,000 cr to revive closed fertiliser plants; aimed at spiking production & generating employment
The Government has outlined an investment of Rs. 50,000 crore for the revival of closed fertiliser plants at Gorakhpur, Barauni, Sindri & Talcher and setting up of gas pipeline network to connect Eastern India to National Gas Grid.
